Anxiety, Nervousness, and Agoraphobia Improve with KAVA

Quantum
Brain Healing uses Kava Kava to sedate the overactive brain. Kava acts
on the limbic system and it affects several neurotransmitters including
GABA and noradrenalin. The limbic area of the brain is key to your
emotions of sadness, fear, and anger.
Kava
has anticonvulsant effects. It is an anti-inflammatory and can be
considered a secondary level anti-aging herb. It can act as a muscle
relaxant on the skeletal muscles and Central Nervous System. Kava is an
anxiolytic and treats anxiety. Kava can enhance cognitive thinking
skills and improve reaction time. It is important not to overuse this
herb.
It
may be an adaptogen due to its slight ability to elevate mood and
sedate. Frequently herbs that can produce two opposing actions depending
upon what is needed by the body are considered adaptogens. Kava is
associated with lower levels of leukemia and ovarian cancer by a study
at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. It is important to note that
there are reports of severe liver toxicity by a few on this herb. This
may be due to problems with how it is made or other substances that the
patients are consuming while on this herb.
Kava
can be used to treat anxiety, nervousness, stress, and insomnia. These
conditions are common in many people. The slight sedating effect of Kava
may resolve anxiety and stress. This is related to the process of
reversing insomnia. Kava treats agoraphobia and may be tied to its
ability to affect the limbic area of the brain.
Kava
must be supported with vitamins, minerals, and high levels of
antioxidants. A break should be taken from this herb on a regular basis.
Use a wide variety of organic vegetables and fruits. Avoid alcohol,
cigarettes, nicotine, and recreational drugs when taking Kava. Do not do
anything to overload the liver. A regular liver detoxification is a
good idea for anyone taking this herb.
This
is not recommended for those with Parkinson’s, liver disease, lung
disease, depression, or bipolar disease. Kava has negative interactions
with acetazolamide, amiloride, furosemide or with angiotensin-converting
enzyme (ACE) inhibitors such as benazepril, captopril, lisinopril,
quinapril, ramipril, levodopa-based medication, alcohol, Xanax,
